My Favorite Spanish Song

Today I thought I'd share one of my favorite songs. It is sung by my father-in-law and his brother. He has a wonderful voice. Everytime we all get together as a family, he brings out the guitar and starts singing. I hope you all enjoy it!!

Sick:(

Sorry for not updating...I am sick with some kind of sinus infection. I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend.
My nephew graduated!!..WOOHOO!. I remember when I first came into this family he was only 4 yrs old. He had a little gun and was gonna go huntin'. Too cute.
Now he's a man and off on his own. He's a cowboy just like his daddy and has already been offered a job on a well-known ranch.
I tried to think of some great advice to say but really couldn't think of anything. So I told him that no matter what what he does...Don't Drink and Drive! Even he had to sleep in his truck, on the ground, or whatever. IF he knows he's drank too many don't get behind the wheel and don't go with anyone who is drunk.

Well, that's about it for now. For the ladies who like Avon..they are having some great sales. Avon's TOP 10 Best Sellers

Where is a Woman's Place?

Okay, so I received many emails about my poll the other day on who does more...husbands or wives. Apparently, people thought I was complaining about what we wives have to do, however, this is not the case. This is what I said at the end..."I'm not complaining of what I have to do...I do feel it's my job as a wife to do all this and more, what I'm complaining about is being unrecognized for everything I do and recognized for everything I don't do.

I would like to elaborate on this matter. This may ruffle a few more feathers but I want to make it clear on where I stand.

I strongly believe that a woman's place is at home. I am applying this towards couples with children. I think it's great that women have all these rights today and can be financially independent BUT if there were more women who stayed home and raised their children and took care of their husbands, things would be a lot better. I know there are going to be women who will say "why can't we do both?"...well, you can, but I feel that something or someone will be deprived somehow.
Let me explain~~If a woman works, most likely she is going to give it her all at work..she has to in order to get respect and keep her job. By the time she gets off work she will more likely be tired and won't tend to ALL the needs that her husband and children need. Working can make you tired and cranky and any kind of venting will be towards the family in one fashion or another. Will she have time to cook supper for everyone or is she going to pick something up a fast food place or even zap something in the microwave?..hmmm good! Will she feel like playing, talking, helping the kids with homework, or will she just want to get a few things done and do something for herself? Can she take off work to see her kids in their programs, award assemblies, help with parties, and see them in their sports activities? Probably not. And what about the husband. Too tired for sex??...making love to your husband and making him feel like a man...that is also part of a wife's job. Meeting his physical and mental needs are essential to a marriage.

My kids can remember every function I have been to for them and know that they can count on me to be wherever, whenever they need me. My husband knows that he and the kids come first. Can you working mothers say the same??

Obviously, this won't apply to EVERY mother/family, but I really do believe mothers should stay home and raise their kids with morals & values. Kids and marriage today have come to an all time low and I think it's due to mothers/wives not doing their most important job that they were born to do.

For the record, I am 31, married for 14 yrs, and mother of 3 kids...8mth, 11 & 13yrs.

Artistic Cowboys

Today I thought I would share 2 of my favorite artists. Brian Asher and my son, Tyler.
Brian is your average cowboy with an amazing talent. He takes pictures of working cowboys while working himself and when you see one of his drawings up close, it looks just like the actual photograph. He has been featured in the Western Horseman, America's Horseman, and Southern Living.

All the drawings I have from him are framed but I took a picture to share with you. I hope you take a little time to check out his website and see his other work. Brian Asher
Brian drew this picture of my husband and a horse called "Jiggy".

My other favorite artistic cowboy is my son, Tyler(who is 13). He has drawn since he was a little ol' thing. He even had one his drawings put up in the art exhibit in El Paso this year. He draws just about everything right now, but he really likes to draw dragons and horses. He keeps almost all his drawings at school in his art folder but I found one his simple drawings here at the house.

I wish I had half the talent these cowboys have!!! Enjoy and take care ya'll!

Who Does More? Husbands or Wives?

Well, anyone who knows me knows how how much I brag on my husband and everything he does..WITH THAT SAID, I'm tired of husbands thinking they do sooo much more than their wives. Just because we don't "leave the house" to go to work doesn't mean we don't do anything. My husband works very hard but I work hard too.

I think everything we wives do is taken for granted. It's funny how "most" husbands never tell you how nice the house looks or what a great job you're doing with the kids, but are super quick to tell you the house looks like crap and you need to clean it.
Obviously, there are a variety of jobs out there but most men go to work (whether it's the office or a cowboy job), come home and choose what they want to do for the rest of their day. The wives don't get the luxury of doing what they want "at the 5:00 hour. We still have to keep a going. I consider making supper as part of my normal job and then after that is overtime. I don't get to sit down and watch tv.... I have to clean up after supper, make sure the kids have everything they need for school, feed the little guy, get my husband tea(while he watches tv), do bills, get my errand/grocery list ready for the next day, get everyone to bed, get the little one to bed (which is a chore in itself), hopefully get a shower in, go to bed, wake up at 3:00 with the little guy, then at 5:00, then start the whole day over again.
Now there are some guys who do some of these things but it's mostly the wife's "job" to do all this.

I'm not complaining of what I have to do...I do feel it's my job as a wife to do all this and more, what I'm complaining about is being unrecognized for everything I do and recognized for everthing I don't do.

A Good Funny!

Dear Tech Support:
Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources.

In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activities, such as Poker Night 10.3, Football 5.0, Going To The Pub 7.5, and Softball 3.6

I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my other favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0 , but the uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0.

Please help!
Thanks,
Troubled User.....

Dear Troubled User:
This is a very common problem that men often complain about.

Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 7.0 . It is impossible to uninstall, or purge, the program files from the system once installed.

You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings: Alimony-Child Support . I recommend that you keep Wife 1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the background application Yes Dear 2.7 to alleviate your program problems.

The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE! because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway. Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance! Wife 1.0 does come with several support programs, such as Clean and Sweep 3.0, Cook It 1.5, and Do Bills 4.2.

However, be very careful how you use these programs . Improper use will cause the system to launch the program Nag Nag 9.5 Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0

WARNING!!! DO NOT, under any circumstances, install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3 . This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system!

Best of luck,
Tech Support

Western Heritage

Hey everybody!! What's been going on with ya'll?? Well, we just back from out of town a little while ago. It was some great fun! I got to shop til I dropped:)
The rodeo was fun. It was hot and then it rained all day Saturday so that put a slight damper on things.
The ranches all did well. My brother-in-law's ranch..(the Spade Ranch) won 1st place and a spot at the World Finals in Amarillo, TX..WOOHOO! They did great and the win was deserving. In second place was the Pitchfork Ranch. We have a really good friend who is the wagon boss at the Pitchforks...he rode the bronc both nights and I happen to take one of his 8 second rides so you all could see it.

Happy Mother's Day

Today I am writing about my mother. I know she doesn't know this but she is an inspiration to me.

She had me young but worked hard to make sure she provided what I needed. Always unselfish, she put me first (like most mothers do) and even though I took it for granted then, I am extremely grateful now. I'm sorry it took until becoming an adult before realizing what she did for me, but I know now and love her for it.

It's very hard to survive abusive behavior from people you love but it's even harder to escape the situation. To experience that kind of abuse on a daily basis sometimes just makes you think it's just the way it is and it's not gonna change.......IT CAN CHANGE and it did change. She withdrew herself from that situation and was able to overcome the physical and mental scars that were dealt to her for years. I don't think she realizes that it takes a strong woman to get away from a situation like that and start fresh. To love again and find someone who loves her for who she is, is an amazing thing. That inspires me and I love her for it.

My inspiration is my mother. She's strong, smart, and loves me for me.

I know you would do anything for me because you always have...
and I LOVE YOU ALWAYS.

Leaving Thursday! WooHoo

Well, today is my last post for a day or two. We are heading out for the Western Heritage Classic. We are leaving tomorrow and won't be back until Sunday. I'm taking my laptop and will try to post Friday or Saturday.
I've have been soo busy. I've been changing my layouts on my blogs, trying to get the house clean before we leave, and getting my blogs updated. We have had thunderstorms, hail, tornado warnings, and it's all caused our electricity to mess up quite a bit. We were out most of the day yesterday. We always need the rain though. The cows gotta have something to eat!
Everybody take care and don't forget to do something for YOUR Mother or A Mother!!!

Top 5 Reasons to have a Horse

  1. Don't spend your hard earned money on high priced gasoline, just ride your horse to town. There's no need for gas, oil, or even a battery!
  2. You don't need to stand in those loooong lines to ride a roller coaster, you just need to spur your horse in the flank a few times to go for a wild ride!
  3. Heck.. if you want to take that ol' nag out to eat, it'll be OK 'cause grass is cheap!
  4. There's no need to deal with all that excess baggage that a spouse brings...horses come with no in-laws attached!!
  5. Finally, if all else fails and you're broke and hungry...............you got a horse;)

Fun Family Day

Today was really nice. All day was family time pretty much. We were outside most of the day enjoying the weather. My oldest rode some horses, my "middle" child washed the pickup and trailer(he loves to do this), and my youngest & us rode the 4-wheeler, cleaned the yard, etc. We all just tried to relax today.

Did anyone see the Oscar De La Hoya fight???? Well, we bought it and I was really surprised by the result. The first several rounds were given to Mayweather..WHY!!....I don't know. He did deserve the last few rounds but that's it! I was very dissappointed. Oh well, it's over and done with.

Kids go back to school tomorrow..which means, I get to clean..Yeah:(

Science Fair Time:(

Sorry I haven't updated the past couple of days. I've had a migraine that is just now going away.
It's that time again...the dreaded Science Project!! After numerous searches, my son finally found one he wanted to do. The Solar Cook Box. He is going to make a solar cook box and cook an egg in it. Since it takes so long to cook something, we decided to film it, put it on the computer and shorten it, then put on dvd. He'll take his dvd player to school and put it front of the display and play it. Not bad huh?! I thought it was good and it's easy to make.
My husband and oldest are working today. I've got a million things to do to get ready for next weekend.
I made $48.00 the other day from my blogs!!! Not to shabby eh! If you want to know how, it's easy. Just set up a blog or website..you can do whatever subject you want, then post something fresh everyday. Sign up with affiliates and place them on your blog. Pretty easy. IF you need some affiliates to sign up with, just check my other blog out on the right side you see all the links. B Money Savvy
Ya'll have a good weekend!!

What's wrong with today's Kids

Today I thought I would vent a little.
There is one thing I cannot stand and that is rudeness. I see it all the time in kids. Do parents think that manners and respect are not important to teach these days or what!!??

I went to the school the other day for open house and was so aggravated at the kids by the end of the evening that I had a long talk with my kids about manners and respect. These kids have dirty mouths and just run into you or in front of you without any care whatsoever. There are no yes maams, no sirs, or any kind of mannerism. The bad part of all of this is that the parents are to blame.

My kids say yes maam, please, no thankyou, thankyou very much, excuse me, etc. They know when they can act silly and when to behave. They understand that (most)adults deserve respect and appropriately treat them with respect.
I don't know if it's because both parents work, or if they are just lazy, or maybe parents themselves don't have any manners or respect for anyone else.......

It is the parents responsibility to teach their kids how to act and speak to adults or anyone for that matter. Kids need to learn manners, respect, and morals. Maybe that's why kids are the way they are today..'cause they have no-one to teach them these basic but essential life skills.
