Superbad is GOOD

I am a huge fan of comedies and really looking forward to seeing the new one called Superbad. I just finished watching some clips and was laughing with my husband. I have to say that Fogel is my pick of the movie out of the clips I have watched. He cracks me up with his whole gangsta persona. If you don't know what all the hype is about with this movie, then you need to check out YouTube for the 5 official Superbad videos. The great thing about YouTube is that you can see all kinds of videos to upcoming movie releases. You can get a good sense of whether the movie will be good or bad. This movie is Rated R and not intended for kids but is great for us adults. The makers of this movie also did 40 Year Old Virgin, which I thought was hilarious. If you really want to get into the movie you can download ringtones, wallpaper, and buddy icons that all pertain to the movie Superbad.

You really need to head over to YouTube and watch the 5 Superbad videos. If it can make my husband and me laugh just from watching one clip, then I know you are going to think it's that funny too.

Curtains with Style

As a crafter, I always made my own curtains but I no longer have time for this and prefer to purchase ready made curtains. They are fast, easy, and convienent. You can find a great selection over at Terry's Fabrics. They have a huge array of designs in all types of fabric. I think curtains can make a house a home and with Terry's curtains and accessories you can be sure you're getting a good deal on a great selection.

IdiotVille~~I Really Hate.....

I feel like venting a bit tonight so I thought I'd make a "5 things I hate" list.

  1. Driving~~I really hate when you have an 80mph. highway and you have idiots driving in the fast lane going only 65mph. Get out of the freakin' way!

  2. Forums~~I really hate when someone REALLY needs help understanding something and these idiots come along and say something like "good luck with that". If you can't offer any good advice then keep your trap shut!

  3. Fast Food~~I really hate, when I'm at McDonalds, waiting on the idiot in front me to order as he stares at the menu for 5 whole minutes. McDonalds has the same menu people....get your nuggets or quarter pounder and sit down!

  4. People~~I really hate, when you're at a gathering, and you have the "ho" that comes up and says hi & touches your husbands arm but then doesn't say a word to you. Keep your damn hands of my husband @!#....idiot.

  5. And finally.......Husbands & kids~~I really hate when they're trying to find something and all they can say is "Where is it???...Where??..I don't see it?". Sometimes it is necessary to actually move something around in order to see it. And sometimes, it's right there in front of you. Open your dang eyes and don't be so lazy!! I won't call them idiots but.....

For A Good Cause

Whenever a person or retailer donates money for a good cause, I believe it should be recognized. Pashmina International is doing just that. They are participating with the Pink Pashminas charity donation. They are donating a percentage of each sale of the pink pashminas towards the International Breast Cancer Foundation. Help support a good cause!

Pashmina Sales Donate to Breast Cancer

Now when you pick up a pashmina, you can have the choice of donating to a well known and worthy cause - breast cancer research! To support the Pink Ribbon campaign for fundraising in the fight against breast cancer, for any order containing a pink pashmina, part of the sale value will be given directly to cancer research.

Pashmina International partnered with International Breast Cancer Research Foundation in July 2007 and is committed to helping defeat breast cancer. They will donate 5% of the total value of relevant orders directly to IBCRF. The pashminas are available in six different styles, from $25.99, including free delivery to any location in the world.

The scarves are of a high quality, and at a very competitive price, so there's really no excuse for not helping a worthy cause. "I just can't believe how soft it is" said Irene, from the UK. Camilla Field, marketing director of Pashmina International, is really up for the cause. "I buy a pink ribbon every year", she said.

IBCRF, currently in its fifteenth year, is committed to practical, cost-effective, breakthrough research that takes advantage of the most promising opportunities and ideas everywhere in the world. This research – especially clinical research – holds the key to understanding, preventing and curing breast cancer.

Pashmina International specialises in genuine cashmere/silk pashmina shawls and scarves. Free worldwide shipping is available on every order, and all the garments are fuzzy, soft, and lightweight. There are no artificial fibers in the scarves, and Pashmina International operates a strict no-child-labor policy, which includes strict standards and personal factory checks.

Full details of this Pink Ribbon offer can be found on the web at http://www.pashminainternational.com/pipara.html

GOT BALLS?

If you have a weak stomach or love animals sooo much that you don't want to see them in an "uncomfortable" position, then I suggest you leave now or just start scrolling way down to find my archives;)

Sorry 'bout the title...I couldn't resist;) Every year the mares(momma horses) have their colts(boys) or fillys(girls).....and then when the colts are older they get cut so they don't become studs. Anyhoo,......there are a couple of ways to cut a colt but the most common and the way I'm familiar with is to~~ give them some medicine that makes them sleep a bit or makes them drowsy, cut their "goods", and let them wake up. Poor lil fellas:(

Unfortunately this has to be done. You can't have only studs around trying to get to every Dawn, Trish, & Carrie. Besides, when you get studs together, they'll just fight and can even kill eachother.

I hate seeing this done so I thought I'd torture ya'll with it too. Enjoy the photos:o)

CellPhone Tracking~~Wild

This new Cell phone tracking website is, well... scary. I knew a cell phone could be located, but ....this is pretty wild. Just enter in someone's cell phone number and it maps out their exact location. You can check where your spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend is at any time. Just click on the web site, insert the cell phone # of someone and go.

Nuthin' Like Dutch Oven Cookin'

We participated in several ranch rodeos (WRCA) every year when we lived on the Fultons. One of them was at Amarillo, TX. It was, by far, one of the bigger rodeos held. There were many competitions and cooking was one of them. You had to set up a chuck wagon and cook out of dutch ovens and over an open fire. The menu would consist of chicken fry, mash potatoes, beans, cobbler, and rolls or biscuits. You made your plates for the judges and then the rest went to the public. It was hot and lots of hard work but I always had a great time.
Rolls & biscuits are always a favorite among cowboys. We actually won 1st place with these.....hmmmmmmmmmm GOOD! FYI~~These are biscuits.

Each person was assigned their own task. I've made the beans, mash taters, rolls, and mexican cornbread. I won 1st in with the taters, rolls, & cornbread. It's fun to participate but it's even more fun to win!! All about braggin' rights baby!

BearTastic

Several years ago, Colorado was having a terrible spread of forest fires. People lost their homes, people died, animals died, and some animals moved south. That brings to our little visitor....Yogi.
We are pretty for sure that Yogi come from Colorado. That's what the game warden thought anyways. We first knew something was up when our trash barrels were knocked over and trash scattered everywhere. We thought it might be a coon but it was an awful big mess to just be a coon. The next day, my husband was trotting in from checking fence when he saw the bear at our barrels. Talk about shocked. I mean a bear in Channing, Tx!? Anyways, he tied up his horse and started running to the house which scared the bear so it ran away. We knew he must be hungry so we through some meat in the barrels and waited........

About 3 hrs later, the bear returned. We had our camera ready and actually got really close to take the pictures. It was definitely a sight to see that's for sure! Our little long haired chihuahua(Rosita Chiquita) actually treed the bear...lol. Can you imagine a little thing like that scaring a big bear up into a tree. I won't tell you what happen to the bear.......you know, it IS illegal to kill bears in Texas.

Path to Weight Loss

Being a fatty, I have tried many weight loss products, Nutrisystem, being one of them.

I first saw Nutrisystem on QVC. I loved the entire concept. To have your food measured out, prepackaged, and shipped to your door was what sold me on it. (Not to mention the food is pretty good.)The program can be pricey at times but if you want the convience of the program, then it's well worth it.

Final thoughts, I know this program works because I have tried it. I lost 16lbs. with the Nutrisystem program. Unfortunately, I was not able to continue the program due to the cost. I have a big family and the money was needed elsewhere. I strongly believe that if you can afford it, it WILL work for you.

A True Longhorn

When we lived at the Fulton Quien Sabe Ranch, we had several huge longhorns. They were old as sin but very neat to look at. We actually had one die while we were there and were able to get the horns. Do we still have the horns?...Nope. My husband traded them to a guy who builds cedar furniture, which is how I came to have my king size cedar bed;)

Anyhoo, feedin' them was a sight. When he would run to the truck, he would be just a swayin' his head back and forth. It was very cool to see. You definately didn't want to be in his way!

3rd Times Not A Charm

Well, I've always heard that bad luck comes in 3's. I hope only 3's and not any more. First, my husband has appendectomy surgery, then my mam~maw passes away, and now our most profitable horse has been kicked (by another horse) in the eye/head. It's really awful too. It almost looks like the skull got crushed. The chances of him going blind are probably pretty high. That makes 3 unlucky incidents and I hope that's it 'cause I can't handle anymore this week. And, of course, that doesn't even count me & my little one getting sick...uggghhh.

I'm not really a prayin' kind of gal (I have my reasons & that's a whole nuther post), but I think I'm gonna ask my loved ones up there to help us through these bad times and pray for good health for my family and our animals.

P.S. Found another gray hair. Hmmmm....u think any of this has anything to do with it:/

My First Hate Email

I received an email from someone (who didn't leave a name or anything) saying they are getting tired of seeing all my reviews and thinks my whole theme sucks.

To The Coward Who Sent the Email:
Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one and here's mine......
If you don't like my reviews, my theme, me, or anything else; then you can just take that mouse and shove it......no, no, no.....you can just click on that big red X and close the damn screen. This is my blog and I'll do with it what I want.

I apologize to my regular readers for the potty mouth.

Final Attempt to Up My PR

Google will be completing the final PR update soon and this is my final attempt to get mine up. Mr. Gary Lee is kind enough to share some link love before the big update and I'm taking part.
Here's my pitch:

I don't do any internet shopping without online coupon codes. It just takes 2 minutes to find a code to save you money....and who doesn't want that!

Thank you Mr. Gary Lee!!

Guess That Mountain Contest Winner

The contest is over with 22 entries. Not too bad for my first contest;) I was very pleased with the participation and enjoyed reading all the different guesses. Thank you to all who entered.

The name of the mountain is GOMEZ PEAK in Kent, TX.

WHAT THE MOUNTAIN ACTUALLY PORTRAYS:
The mountain depicts a naked Indian lying on his back, hands across chest, his manhood, and knees up.

Everyone who guessed had the same basic idea of what the mountain portrayed so I took all the names of these people and had my son draw a winner randomly.
THE WINNER IS
Bear from The Traveling Man

Bear, you need to contact me via email or by comment and give me your paypal address so I can reward you with the $10 prize!!

World's Smallest and Tallest Horse~~Meet Thumbelina & Radar

I love pictures of horses and Thumbelina is one of my favorites. I'm sure most of you know who Thumbelina is but I thought I'd share a picture for those who aren't aware of this little cutie.

The 17 inch tall, 57 pound miniature horse travels in a mobile home and sleeps in a dog house.
Most dwarf miniature horses don't survive, but this little cutie pie has a clean bill of health.

And what about the World's Tallest Horse? Meet Radar

This gentle giant is an amazing sight for horse lovers of any age. Standing 19 Hands, 3 1/2 Inches tall (6'7 1/2" at the withers) and weighing almost 2700 lbs.

The 2008 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records will feature a picture of Thumbelina with Radar, the world's tallest horse.

Go Go Gadget Girl

I am such a geeky girl! Today I came across a new blog about cool gadgets. I'm here to create some buzz because despite being a new blog, there are some great articles on many different kinds of gadgets. If you're a "techi", then I think you'll really enjoy reading her posts. I personally enjoyed her post on big gadgets for big jobs. My husband is a spurmaker and he dreams of owning a plasma cutter. Anyhow, I found the posts to be organized and informative. Her categories consist of everything from beauty gadgets to geeky freebies. I hope you check Gadget Girl Accessories out and maybe even consider linking up with her.

UPDATES~~Contest, Me, and My Husband

I still would like to have some more entries for my contest. It's really easy to enter. Try your luck and Guess That Mountain.

Also, I'm still sick. I have some kind of 48hr. flu or something. I feel like crap. I had fever today and can't breathe at all!! I've used an inhaler and my son's breathing machine thingy and nothing is working:(
Anyhoo, my husband is recovering well from his surgery. Finished all his medications and is getting around pretty good.

Quick Update

I'm super sick and my Mamaw passed away.

Veggies To Go

I have always tried to incorporate veggies into my family's eating habits, however, it can sometimes be difficult.

There is one solution to this. Drink My Daily Veggies provides a creative way for your kids and family members to get a healthy dose of veggies everyday. This organic food has no added salt, sugar, or preservatives so you know you are getting all vegetables and no junk!

I think this would be very handy for campers and sport participants. You just take your packet and mix it with water and you're good to go. If you are on the go and live a very busy life, then you can throw them in your briefcase, purse, or gym bag and know that you will have your recommended vegetable serving. I think in today's lifestyle we need to provide healthier snacks for our kids, as well as, for ourselves. We all need to be taught better eating habits and this makes it very easy for us so we don't have any excuses anymore.

They even provide recipes so if you don't want to drink it, you can actually add it to your food. I think this is really clever for those stubborn kids who say they don't like vegetables! Just slip some in there mac and cheese and viola...they have had there veggie serving and probably won't even know it.

If you are unsure about it, you can request samples at www.drinkyourveggies.com. I don't know how long the samples will last so get your sample while you can. This is a great way to try it and start incorporating a healthier lifestyle for you and your family.

Spring & Fall Works

Every Spring & Fall, the works begin. The cowboys gather the cattle and brand the calves. We start our Fall works in August. The cowboys will gather all the cattle and hold'em up in a pen or corral, one cowboy will go in the herd a horseback and rope a calf, drag the calf to the branding fire where 2 cowboys flank the calf, then the brander comes in and brands the calf with a hot iron with whatever the ranch brand is. This is very important; believe it or not there are still cattle thieves running around. Havin' the brand is proof that the cattle belong to the rightful owner.

I have a couple of pictures to give you an idea. The first picture is of my son, Tyler (who is horseback) and my 2 nephews, Wichita & Utah who are flanking the calf. Flanking is where they grab the calf and put it on it's side, then one holds the head down and the other basically holds the legs with one of the legs stretched out....this is where the brand will go ( the hip/leg area). In the second picture, my nephews are still flanking the calf while the brander comes in and brands the calf. Some calves need to be earmarked or have shots given to them. After that, they get released back to the herd. Finally, all the cowboys drive the cattle back to the pasture they belong in.

TylerCruz.Com

When I grow up I want to be an internet entrepreneur. Hmmmm...... being a newbie blogger, I would just like to learn some basics and implement them in my own blog. Surfing around for some SEO help, I stumbled across TylerCruz.com and was pleased with a number of articles. One of my favorites, Putting the Cart Before the Horse, provided tips that were very helpful and I learned a few things that were essential to know in the SEO world.

Tyler is a young man, however, he seems to be very knowledgeable in his field. I found most of the articles informative and "with the times" with only a couple of articles a "crash from the past". He owns and operates several sites that were interesting and you should check them out if you get a chance.

The layout: I like that he only has 7 categories. I think people are getting carried away these days by showing 20+ categories. BUT, I think his categories are not subject specific. I found it hard to narrow down what I wanted to view without having to go through the archives and search for an interesting topic. With that said, it was easy to navigate and I was able to find articles that were relevant to my interests. Check it out if you get a chance and consider subscribing to his feed. He doesn't have over 600 RSS readers for nothing!

Our Own Little Neighborhood Fireworks

I hope everyone had a super 4th of July. We had a pretty good time!! BUT, we had a little "friendly fire" with the neighbor here. We went to watch the fireworks and got home around 10:30 and got ready to pop our own fireworks. When you live in these subdivisions all the neighbors pop fireworks until about 12:00 am. We started to pop some when the neighbor across the street came out and asked us if we could move down the street to pop them:/ Now come on!! It's Independence Day, EVERYONE is popping them...I mean geez, all you can see is smoke from all the fireworks, and it was still before 12:00. They said their kids were in bed. Well so was my 9mth old...and he was sleeping like a baby;) I honestly don't see how 50 steps is gonna make a difference and you should have heard all the booms and whistles from all the other neighborhoods. It's like they were right there with us. Anyways, another neighbor heard the conversation and invited us down a house length, so we went. I guarantee you the noise level was still the same. What a bunch of retards?!!! The really exciting point was when we saw that they left their brake lights on and didn't know it...muhaaha(that's my evil laugh by the way) They were on ALL night and were unable to drive their fancy little car. WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND BABY!!

My 8 Things

I've been tagged! JeanJeanie over at Growing Up....... has tagged me for that Eight Things meme.

The Rules: "Each person posts the rules before their list, then they list 8 things about themselves. At the end of the post, that person tags and links to 8 other people and then visits those peoples' sites and comments letting them know that they have been tagged, and to come read the post, so they know what they have to do."

This is my first time doing anything like this so here it goes....

My 8 Things

  1. I drink Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper 24/7. Maybe that's why I can't lose weight;)

  2. I prefer my kids be raised out in the country and attend small schools, however, I crave "city life" for myself. Really, I would just like to live closer than 2 hrs to the nearest town.

  3. I am intimidated and jealous of intelligent women. (Mainly the ones who went to college.)I consider myself to be brainy considering that I dropped out my Junior year; which I still regret to this day.

  4. I pray at night while I'm laying in bed. Most of my family & friends think I'm not a believer...this is sorta true:/

  5. I'm obsessed with office supplies(embarrassed). I love pens, pencils, hole punchers, tape dispensers, and organizing things. Yes, it's lame but who cares.

  6. I'm married to a cowboy and live on a ranch but am allergic to the horses and cattle. I have to take allergy medicine if I know I'm gonna be around them.

  7. I always wanted to be a dancer.

  8. And finally, I'm half Spanish(look white though) but speak & understand very little! .....I do know enough to know if you're talking about me though;)

There you have it! My 8 things. If you're on this list, consider yourself tagged.

Everything is BIGGER in Texas!

Guest Blogger~~Sister-in-law
This happened a year ago or so, but I thought that is was interesting.....
Patterson Drilling, Abilene, TX was doing some cleanup around the yard. The forklift driver picked up a “pit” (10 ft by 10 ft by 15 ft), set it back down and called the office. “I need some people out here with shotguns”. Three men showed up. As many got away as were killed----62."
To me a Snake is a Snake no matter what kind, and since I have kid's I really don't want them around and would rid of them in any way possible. One thing that is great, is that we have a bulldog that handles most of our snake problems. So far we have only encounter one 5ft bull snake, and a 7" garder snake. These were handled by Peso "the snake dog". There is still alot of summer left for the Rattlers to come out and play... Have a Great snake free day!
