Changes that You May or May Not Like
After much debate, I have decided to change this blog back to what I intended it to be in the first place, a blog about ranching, cowboys, cowgirls, family, ect. After getting caught up in the money hype, I realized I was becoming one of them. You know, those money making blogs. I'll still have my other blogs that do exactly that, but have decided to leave that kind of stuff where it belongs, so it will end on this blog (for the most part). I will monetize my blog with relevant ads that fall into the western/cowboy theme but that's about all.
Why some people won't like this-
There are going to be people that will dislike this decision for the simple fact of my lack of participation in certain things. This is a big risk on my part because I could lose some readership by not joining in on things that I normally do. For example: I will only be participating in 1 or 2 memes and they will involve photography....you know who you are.
My Apology-
I want to apologize to the people who might be dissappointed with this and perhaps even hurt by it. It's nothing personal at all, it's just that I want to get back to my roots and blog because I WANT to and not because I have to or because I feel bad about not joining in on something. Ya know what I mean? I'm sorry for drifting in another direction and turning this blog into something it's not.
I have made some wonderful friends and hope you will support this decision and continue to read my blog. Feel free to leave comments on any questions, thoughts, or opinions you may have about this.

Stephen King with The Mist
I absolutely love scary movies! It looks like there's a new one coming out in theaters November 21 called The Mist by Stephen King. It is Rated R so please be advised that it is probably not for the younger children.
I love his books and the movies are just as spooky. I just finished the trailer and let me tell you, it looks like something that will make me jump! There is one particular part where they are just staring at the fog and then WHAM, something scares the living daylights out of them and me. There was another part that made me think there is much more to the story. A woman who was saying something about them being meant to shed their blood. It makes you wonder if she is trying to turn everyone against each other so they don't unite to stand against what ever it is out there in the mist. Sounds like a first class thriller doesn't it?
I've seen every movie based on Stephen King novels so I know this one will be just as good, or perhaps even better! I'm telling you this is not one to miss. Remember, it's out this Nov. 21. Get that babysitter and go enjoy the movie!

Stop the Abuse of Horses
Many people dream of owning a horse but due to the lack of knowledge and experience they have, horses will suffer. Horse abuse comes in different forms, but one of the most common form I see is starvation.
Horses malnourishment is due to several reasons. Many times the owners fail to properly feed the horses during the winter or during drought. The horses lose weight every winter and then regain the weight in the summer. This is a very common scenario brought on by owners who DO know better, but who choose not to properly feed for one reason - MONEY.

Another common reason is pure laziness. Owners or caretakers, "forgot to feed last night" or " I was busy and was only able to feed them once yesterday". Repeated enough times and the result is a starved horse. Because of people's ignorance, horses suffer for a long time with death waiting around the corner.
If you see a malnourished horse, contact your local authorities or animal control.
This post was written in support of the Bloggers uniting and trying to "Stop the Abuse".

Blogrush and DealDotCom Reminder
I think DealDotCom will be a great place to get some really good products that are for money maker blogs. If you blog for money, you should sign up and check out the "Deal of the Day". It launches in a few minutes(Sept. 18). You can also make money through referrels so give it a shot.
Blogrush is the other new hottie around. It's basically a traffic generator. If you look to the left sidebar, you'll see the widget there. It displays random blogs in that particular category that you put your blog under so that everyone who displays the widget on their blog, can send you traffic. It's a neat idea and said to be huge so I guess we'll see.

Jackass Stunts to Get Traffic
Being part MEXICAN, part WHITE, and part INDIAN leaves me wide open to all kinds of "racial like" remarks but none of it bothers me.....But, when you have some jackass that tries to bring the race card up over something that is COMPLETELY harmless, it really chaps my hide.
I strongly believe that the people who bring the race card into situations are, themselves, racist. It's people like him, who keep the racial issue going, that make me sick.
Some people will do anything for linkbait, even if it means putting your integrity on the line , which he obviously does not possess!
And if your concern for Native Americans is so strong, then please tell us what you have contributed to that particular race? Or any other race for that matter...I mean, besides being a jackass.
I wasn't even going to include his link but since the anchor text was appropriately fitting, I went against my better judgement.
Bloggerista wrote a really good response to it so please go read it and digg it!
The paid post debate goes from personal to nasty
Hmmm..I think I should add him to my Idiotville list!
By the way, Happy Birthday to Phil and thank you for bringing the contests to us, so WE don't have to go looking for THEM.

Blogging with Cents
I finally have "Blogging with Cents" my new blog up-n-going and even though it has tons of tweaking to be done and content to be added, I thought I would let you take a peak and perhaps leave a comment with your thoughts about it. Let me know what you think of the template/theme, content so far(although it is VERY minimal), and maybe some things that you would like to see there.

Share a Square and Help a Kid
I came across "This Eclectic Life" during my rounds with Thursday Thirteen and just had to share with you all.
I love to crochet and when I read what these ladies do, it touched my heart and inspired me. If your heart is big enough and you can crochet, I hope that you will consider participating in the Share a Square campaign for kids with cancer. All they want you to do is crochet a square and send it to them. They are making these afghans for each kid at the camp. Camp Sanguinity has allowed children being treated for cancer and blood disorders to have a summer camp experience. The camp allows children receiving treatment at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth to spend a week gaining confidence and determination by challenging themselves, trying new activities, learning new skills and making new friends.
Now if you don't crochet, you could still send them some black Red Heart brand yarn. They are in desperate need of this. The black yarn is what outlines the squares and puts the whole afghan together! You can also make a donation. It doesn't even need to be money. They take bottled water, hats, caps, sunscreen, markers, and sooo much more!

Marketing and Announcements by Voice
Have you ever thought about a new marketing approach? Vontoo voice messaging is a creative way to market your business. Why voice messaging? Well, not everyone has access to email but everybody has a phone whether it's a cell or home phone. Delivering a message by voice also provides a more personal touch not to mention is a less expensive way to market than by direct mail. With three different plans, you're bound to find one that suits your needs.
Approaching Your Established Customers with voice messaging:
Jerry Leath, owner of Great Frame Up, had many customers with unused store credits. Jerry could easily have sent out mailers to these customers reminding them to come in and take advantage of their credits but how many people would have actually read the mailer and came in? I'm willing to bet, not too many. Jerry decided to use Vontoo to get the word out. He logged in at vontoo.com and recorded one message reminding his customers of their store credit. One message sent to 90 customers at the same time lead to at least a dozen new sales and upgrades with already established customers.
Making Annoucements and Informing Family & Friends:
Maybe you're not in a business but need to make an annoucement of sorts--say you're pregnant and you want to let all your friends and family know. How cool would it be to record your big annoucement and have it sent to everyone instantly!! Or maybe a loved one is in the hospital and you need to just give everyone a quick update--just create your message and send. Everyone now knows what's going on and you have eliminated a dozen phone calls of saying the same thing over again. I think Vontoo's voice messaging system has many, many potential uses.
Vontoo's voice broadcasting technology to create, send, and track is, not only, creative but is truly and innovative way to market in today's times, as well as, make that big annoucement. Vontoo is simple, fast, and effective!

Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk
I was very excited to get the opportunity to write about Alzheimer's disease and spread the word on how YOU can help.
One of my best friend's mother has this disease and the effects it can cause can be devastating.
I remember being at a rodeo with my friend when her father called crying and half hysterical. He said her mom was screaming and crouching down scared because she didn't know who this man in her house was. She thought her husband was some stranger that broke into the house to hurt her. It was so sad to see. I just wanted to cry. Memory loss and hallucinations are just a couple of effects of Alzheimer's.
There are things you can do to help end Alzheimer's. Visit the Alzheimer's Association and get involved with the Alzheimer's Memory Walk that is going on nationwide. You can sign up as a Team Captain, Team Walker, or an Independent Walker. You can check to see if there is a walk happening in your area. I put in Texas and found 3 cities that are very close to me that I can participate in. There is also a sign up link so you can join right online. I do know they are in need of Team Captains, so if you are capable of doing this and want to help, please sign up and contribute yourself to the cause.
If you can't join in the walk, there are still many more things that you can do to help. The Alzheimer's Association holds an array of fundraisers for this cause. You can also simply make a donation if you wish. Anything will help and will be greatly appreciated.

Take a Peek at a New Search Engine
We've all used the yellow pages but what about finding someone online? PeekYou is a unique search engine that allows you to do just that. Not only can you find that persons websites and ALL their profiles, but it also provides the freedom to edit your information or make it "unlisted" if you choose to do so.
I found it very interesting to learn several of my friends had a blog and I didn't even know it! I even did my own name to see what came up and was surprised at how many profiles I had. It shows my blogs, my social networks, and basically many of the places that I've registered with. I can even add my own photo and usernames that I have used in all the different forums and such. Here's a screenshot to give you an idea of what it displays.
I think PeekYou search engine is unique and user friendly, so head on over and Take a Peak at your profile and if you don't have one; set one up.

I was able to receive an invitation to Pownce. Pownce is the newest and coolest social network right now. Pownce is a way to send stuff to your friends. What kind of stuff? You can send just about anything: music, photos, messages, links, events, and more. You can do it all on our web site, or install our lightweight desktop software that lets you get out of the browser.
I have 4 invites to give away so if you want one, act fast. The first 4 need to Contact Me with your email. Once I receive the first 4 people, I will update this page to let you know that I have no more invites.

World's Smallest and Tallest Horse~~Meet Thumbelina & Radar
I love pictures of horses and Thumbelina is one of my favorites. I'm sure most of you know who Thumbelina is but I thought I'd share a picture for those who aren't aware of this little cutie.
The 17 inch tall, 57 pound miniature horse travels in a mobile home and sleeps in a dog house.
Most dwarf miniature horses don't survive, but this little cutie pie has a clean bill of health.

And what about the World's Tallest Horse? Meet Radar
This gentle giant is an amazing sight for horse lovers of any age. Standing 19 Hands, 3 1/2 Inches tall (6'7 1/2" at the withers) and weighing almost 2700 lbs.

Wrestler Chris Benoit, Wife(Nancy), and Son Daniel DEAD
Having 4 boys, including my husband, I'm bound to see some wrestling. Well, this evening we were watching it when they were doing a live tribute to the death of him and his family.
There are no leads yet but there is speculation that Chris Benoit may have done this himself. They were found dead in their home at around 2:30 PM.
It has been updated to state that "he deaths of Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and their son Daniel earlier today were the result of a double murder-suicide from within the home"
Soooo sad! Just for the record, I tried to find a picture of his family but was out of luck. I would rather have paid tribute to them and not him.
