What a Mess

I'm sitting here looking at all my stuff wondering where I plan on putting it all. What I really need is a huge garage storage area to organize it all. I could put the kids things in one place, wore out ropes up high on some sort of hangers, and even put food in some cabinets that don't fit in my house. My pantry is so small so that would be a big help. How do you organize your stuff? Do you have a garage for it all? And how organized is it?

Stop the Abuse of Horses

Many people dream of owning a horse but due to the lack of knowledge and experience they have, horses will suffer. Horse abuse comes in different forms, but one of the most common form I see is starvation.

Horses malnourishment is due to several reasons. Many times the owners fail to properly feed the horses during the winter or during drought. The horses lose weight every winter and then regain the weight in the summer. This is a very common scenario brought on by owners who DO know better, but who choose not to properly feed for one reason - MONEY.

Another common reason is pure laziness. Owners or caretakers, "forgot to feed last night" or " I was busy and was only able to feed them once yesterday". Repeated enough times and the result is a starved horse. Because of people's ignorance, horses suffer for a long time with death waiting around the corner.

If you see a malnourished horse, contact your local authorities or animal control.
This post was written in support of the Bloggers uniting and trying to "Stop the Abuse".

Random Talk

If you haven't entered my contest over at Blogging with Cents, you should do it soon. The contest ends in 4 days and has had 22 entries. Just fill in the blank and you could win $50.

This week has been crazy. I've got football to attend tomorrow and then packing to do for the weekend. We have a Ranch Rodeo to go to in my home town. I really don't want to go--I am so sick of driving:(

My traffic has increased with the Blogrush buzz. After reading around and my own personal experiences, it seems to do better on blogs not pertaining to money making. I have had some new mommy blogger traffic from the widget. I think I'll keep it here but plan on giving it the boot at my other site.

If you are considering moving to WordPress, DO IT! I absolutely love it and wish I would have started this one out over there. The plugins are awesome and the overall quality of the blog is a substantial difference. I am cheap and I love free but this was worth the money! I picked Bluehost as my web host and they have been fantastic so far. Make the move, you'll be glad you did.

Finally, if you notice ads, you have seen the big one between my most recent post and the one after that. The company is called Sprout and it is geared for little ones. It's a very neat site that can get your little guys and gals involved in different activities. It has drawing, stories, and more that the kids can do. Check it out.

Truett's 1st Birthday

Today was my littlest man's Birthday!! Woohoo, the big 1. It's been a very long day and I'm extremely tired but I threw this little video together of Truett from start til today:) I could have done so much better but I was just too lazy. Enjoy!

2007-09-24

Spoiled Little Brats

The title reflects how I feel when I see kids GIVEN everything to them without any inclination of how to EARN something,--Or when kids think they're too good for the waterhose after playing outside, and Dasani bottled water is their only means of hydration. Oh wait! Did I just say playing outside??...LMAO...What the hec was I thinking?--Kids don't play outside these days, do they? Of course they don't, not when they have Xbox, laptops, and TV.

I think today's kids are spoiled, pampered and couldn't survive a day of our childhood. Kids want, want, want and don't even know what earn means. Consequences to their actions are minimal and they are practically baby fed.

Who's to blame?

  • Parents

I believe the parents are to blame 100%. Yes, there are other factors involved but it all comes down to the parents.

Example: You're tired of hearing your kid whine about that toy they want so bad while your shopping in Wal-mart.

What do you do?--- You buy it to shut them up.

What should you do?---

  1. You could take them to the bathroom and whip their ass.

  2. Or, you could leave your basket right there and walk your child out of the store and head home.

Now obviously, everyone doesn't agree with spanking so I'll focus on #2.

I have applied #2 with my children and it works wonders. Unfortunately, you won't see too many parents do this. Why? Because they are lazy. They would rather give in to the child's desires than leave the store, go home, and then have to go back again later to finish shopping. If you do this a couple of times though, your child will see that you are going to follow through by leaving and the begging for stuff will stop. I actually picked this idea up from my father-in-law and it works wonders.

Parents would rather find the easy way out then put in the work that is required in raising a child. TV is a fine example of this. First of all, look at what's on TV--mostly crap, so why in the world would you want your kid to sit their watching it? Again, because parents are lazy. They have things they want to do and what could be easier than plopping your little one in front of the television!

Parents are the ones who let their daughters wear whatever they want, even if means having 'hottie' written across their butt, on shorts, that show a little cheek. Parents are the ones who make Christmas look like they've won the lottery. I mean, come on, does your child really need 50 gifts? How about 3 or 4 good ones and make the earn other things they want by working. If you can't afford both Senior pictures and cheerleading camp, then have your child choose between the two. Don't give them both. There's no need to go into debt just because she will cry and be disappointed and hate you forever. She'll get over it. It will teach her in the long run to be grateful for what she has. If you're going to GIVE your kids a cellphone, make them pay the bill. Take their 'precious' belongings away from them when they complain after you have just asked them to do something. Parents need to lay down the law, quit being lazy and follow through. You need to be parents first, friends second. Make your kids earn that cellphone, laptop, Xbox, and yes--even money. Give them chores to do--have them volunteer at the homeless shelter or at the kids orphanage. Make them get a job and pay for everyday things they want. This will make them be more responsible, respectful, and appreciative.

Self Portrait Sunday 9/23/07

I'm sure most of you have noticed my absence here and I do apologize. I have been working soooo hard on my new blog that I had to devote less time to this one. I do apologize. I think the kinks are out of the way and now I can just post:)
BTW, Betshopboy nominated me for the Top 50 Female Bloggers list over at Enkay’s. **blushing** I am flattered. The list will expand and be re-ranked. Once that happens, I will fall down to the bottom because my blogs are still new and stats for my Blogging with Cents are low. Anyways, thanks again for the nomination.

Now to the portrait. I was in a crappy mood for the past 2 days. My little man has been the whiniest ever! This picure reflects my mood very well, of course, I could have put makeup on to make it look better but I thought you might like to see the full mad on. And the emmy for the most aggravated facial expression goes to.............
If you haven't participated in Self Portrait Sunday yet, then head on over and check it out!

Pink Dyson Giveaway---All for a Good Cause

Have you heard of the Dyson vacuum cleaners before? Well, I have--and I would love to have but unfortunately, on a cowboy's wages, it's just ain't gonna happen. If you lucky enough though, you could be chosen to get one for FREE!! Enter for your chance to win one at 5 Minutes for Mom!

BTW, Dyson is helping to find a cure for Breast Cancer.
They have created a limited edition, oh-so-fashionable Pink vacuum and they are donating $40 from each sale to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. If you can afford to buy one, you better hurry. They are only on sale a Target and are almost sold out!!

Blah, Blah, Blah

So, I'm tired today and this post will be short! My son lost his football game last night. His blocking improved tremendously, however, because of the rain-he fumbled:(
They still made the touchdown though! Ft. Hancock's team was good! Back in my husband's badass football days, they were undefeated--went to the state and got their butt kicked by Ft. Hancock, so I guess they raise good football players. Well, I'm headin' back to bed for a couple of hours. Peace out!

How Well Do You Know the Stock Market?

I know absolutely nothing but I have always wanted to learn. I have a few family members and several friends who invest and I would love to join in the venture. When I came across the opportunity to participate in a rookie challenge where you invest with virtual money, I couldn't pass it up. You actually get to trade stocks with real companies using your "play" money, but even better, is that you could win a weekly prize of $1000.

New ROOKIES start off with $100,000.00 to invest. You are free to invest it however you wish. To keep the system simple, the only transaction options are buying and selling. Data for the simulator is based on a 15-20min delay on market data. Our operational times are the same as the real markets so orders will be processed Mondays through Fridays, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

I think this is an awesome way to educate people who are interested in the Stock Market. I'm sure many of you are unsure about it and have, like me, wanted to trade stocks and such. Here's your chance to see how well you would do if you were doing this in "real" life. It's completely free to register and participate and the signup only took me 2 minutes! Even if you don't succeed, I'm sure you will have come out of it with new-found knowledge.

If you are an advanced investor, then this would be a great chance for you to brush up on your skills and see what new strategies you can apply. It really is for everyone and why not try to learn something that could make you money.
I'm off to see what trades I can make.

Thursday Thirteen--My Money Makers

If you're not participating in TT, then you're missing out on a fun meme and the chance to meet new friends.
I appreciate the nice comments on last week's TT slideshow I did!! You are all very kind:)
This week is going to be SUPER cheesy! As some of you may or may not know, I do blog for money. This week, I thought I would compile a list of 13 money makers that I use. Yep, call it cheap advertising...I don't mind. They will be linked with my affiliate link. I don't want you to think I'm trying to pull one over on you;)
With that said..............
  1. PPP (PayPerPost)--Get paid to blog! One of my favs and better money makers.
  2. Smorty's --Get paid to blog! Super easy:)
  3. LinkWorth --Get paid to blog, link, and more!
  4. MyCreditCardCash --Get paid to promote credit cards. You can check out the MyCreditCardCash Review I did to learn more.
  5. AuctionAds --Display relevant auction ads on your site. I've done very well with them.
  6. Linkshare --Affiliate program
  7. Traffic Payouts --Affiliate program
  8. ROI Rocket --Affiliate program
  9. TLA --Text Link Ads...I do decent with them but I've made more with Linkworth.
  10. Inbox Dollars --Featured on Good Morning America. Get paid to do offers, read emails, play games, and more.
  11. ReadersPaid --Get paid to program. Lots of bonus offers and ways to make extra money.
  12. ClickBank --Another affiliate program
  13. Bidvertiser --Like AuctionAds but you can also advertise with them. Sign up and get $20 in free quality clicks.

As you can see, most of my money comes from various affiliate programs. I could have listed all the different ones I use inside those main affiliates but I thought I would be more general so you could pick what products suit you best. PPP is another big earner for me. LOVE IT and the people!

And if you're feeling generous, you could show them some link love even if you don't enter. It's a new blog, so it could use the exposure. Anton has another site that looks pretty good. I normally wouldn't be a fan of grey, but it looks darn good. Anyhoo, read his contest post and enter. Your odds of winning $50 are much better than the lottery so why not give it a go! In fact, I'm adding this neat little Halloween blog to my blogroll;)

Rambling Roundup

Hey all you yayhoos, make sure you don't blink
I'm fixin' to bring ya a shot of I think therefore I link.
Nope, I ain't got much else to do
so I'll just lay around here and go moo, moo, moo.
Now looky here and pay attention to what you see,
this here post is for a link on the famous bite me.
Yep, I know I'm a little lame but I'm having so much fun
and if you hurry on up, you too, can git-r-done!

Blogrush and DealDotCom Reminder

I think DealDotCom will be a great place to get some really good products that are for money maker blogs. If you blog for money, you should sign up and check out the "Deal of the Day". It launches in a few minutes(Sept. 18). You can also make money through referrels so give it a shot.

Blogrush is the other new hottie around. It's basically a traffic generator. If you look to the left sidebar, you'll see the widget there. It displays random blogs in that particular category that you put your blog under so that everyone who displays the widget on their blog, can send you traffic. It's a neat idea and said to be huge so I guess we'll see.

I Can Be Nice Too

I'm sure most of my fellow bloggers think I'm oh so nice but I'm really not:) However, I have done some really nice things for people. The first one that comes to mind and that is most recent, would be giving a lady money to fix her van. Breaking down out here in the middle of nowhere can be an absolute nightmare, especially if your a woman. I mean, it's dangerous to break down in no man's land, by yourself, and so close to Mexico. Really that applies to any place! Anyhoo, a woman broke down at the little store, where I was working, and after calling a tow company and getting an estimate, she learned it was going to be $600 to fix it. She was crying and crying. Luckily, we are at a point in our lives where we can afford to pay if something like this were to happen to us but we have been where she was. That's a lot of money to dish out for an average person. She tried to sell me her ring and some other little piddly stuff but I just couldn't do that. I had just gotten my check from the store so I cashed it and gave her $200 and my husband hauled her to the next biggest town. My husband talked to the mechanics and was able to get her a deal. The total bill was $423 bucks. She had the rest but it left her broke. She did have enough gas money to make it to her destination so that was good. FYI...she was on her way to pick up the kids from their Dad's place. She did call him for help but he said no..sorry bastard.

Do you have a random act of kindness story? Surely, there are still some good Samaritans around???

$50 Contest at My New Blog

I am having a fill in the blank contest at my new blog "Blogging with Cents". I hope you all will take part it in. It does a require a bit of thought but should still be very easy to participate in.

The Saturday "Not So" Special 9/15/07

I will not be participating in the Self Portrait Sunday because I will be out of town..sorry. If you want to see a picture I took of myself the other night, then scroll down to see my entry into Bloggrrl's contest!

Did ya'll notice the little ad I made to the right??? I thought it was cool. You can check out my post on Male Selective Hearing at my new place.

There's a new money maker to be launched on Sept. 18. You can sign up with my invitations or not..whatever you want to do:) Atleast go read up on it before you make a decision. They say it's to be one of the better affiliate programs.

Not much else...My son had his first football game on Thursday. They won 20-0..WooHoo...and MY son made a touchdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!! He keeps that up I might have to make a highlight video to show you at the end of the season;)
I guess that's all for now...I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! See ya on Monday.

Killing a Few Birds with One Stone

There are a few contests that I want to enter in so I thought I would do it all in one post.

Aristology and Stripping..I could go online to see what that means but I'm too lazy. If you want to take a guess at his new contest, too bad, you can't. FAKE. Anyways, my guess is Bobby Flay. And if you blog for money, you might be interested in Profitable Affiliate Marketing.
NEXT:
Who likes Teddy Bears???...ooooo, I do, I do! Check out Fickle Food for your chance to win won a Mohair Bear! I would love to win it and give it to my new soon-to-be niece!! My entry: I hate when I tell me kids AND husband to get me something and they come back with "I can't find it or where?"...Do they even look for cryin' out loud??!! I guess they just can't seem to understand that sometimes, you have to move the pillow or toy in order to FIND something...arrrggghhh;)
NEXT:
I'm new to Nanashi-Inc's blog but have "seen" her around because she is a fellow PPPeer. I've read some of her articles and she's seems like a cool person. If you don't like potty mouths, then don't go to her site. She has one and she's not afraid to use it;) and I can totally relate to her anti-social thinking. Right now, she's having a Fifty for the Fall contest giveaway. Get yourself entered and check out her dark and mystical world!
NEXT:
Now to my girl Leigh from External Flux. She's awesome what can I say. She sells Marykay which I was lucky enough to get samples from:) She is also a witch. What kind? A pagan I believe, you'll have to visit her blog and maybe you'll find out more. I will tell you this though...if you are judgemental or don't have anything nice to say because of her beliefs, then stay the hell away from her. She is warm, funny, and caring and I think she's great. AND, if you go say something ugly to her, I will kick your ass!
She participates in the Wednesday Hero the words that come from her are inspiring and beautiful. She loves to read Stephen King..I like to read too but rarely get the chance:( Anyways, go check her out and enter the contest!
NEXT:
Bloggrrl is having a September's Shots contest that I can't believe I am entering. Holy Cow..I can't believe I'm gonna do this....Hey Bloggrrl..I really don't drink much because I usually have to drive my drunk ass husband home or I have the kids around and they hate it to see me with a beer. All I had was this Strawberry Hill and it's been in the fridge since, hmmmmm, I don't know when:/ Anyways, here it goes...AND, I'm not wearing makeup, it's 11:30pm, and I look like crap..oh my gosh..what the hec was I thinkin'???? I'm apologizing in advance to my mother!!!! (mom, this is part of the contest:) Here's my dumb drunk quickie. We had been to a rodeo and the dance and then the bar...after downing about 10 different shots, including my fav-Tequilla, beer, and a few sex on the beach drinks, I passed out next to the trash can at Motel 6. My poor husband had to come back downstairs (he thought I was following behind him) only to find me passed out in the fetal position next to the dumpster! Geez, the things you do when you're young. Thank God for 2 tablespoons of honey though!!

Pimp Your Blog

Here lately, people have been complaining about the page load time. I have seriously been considering giving my blog a complete makeover. I love my cutesy theme but maybe it's time to grow up, what do you think?

I've been looking around for different themes to get ideas but none have caught my eye. They are all to plain to me. Pagefetti has some neat things you can do with to "pimp" your blog up but I don't think they suit me too well but I did like some of the glitter graphics and the layouts were really cool.

There is so much work involved when you change up your whole theme. You have to reapply scripts and codes and I hate doing that kind of stuff. Then you have to change the color on whatever widgets you have to match your new template. I guess I need to really sit down and figure the pros and cons of making over my blog. If page loading time is a problem though, I do want to fix it. I want my readers to visit my site with no problems.

If you have any tips, advice, or opinions about me redesigning "A Cowboy's Wife", then please feel free to share! Obviously it would need to stay within the western type theme but let me know what you think.

Thursday Thirteen--"My Photos" Slideshow

If you're not participating in TT, then you're missing out on a fun meme and the chance to meet new friends.

I take tons of photos because photography is a passion of mine. I thought I would put 13 of some photos that I took (that are special to me for whatever reasons) and make a little slideshow out of it. FYI..the song is Chris Ledoux-Cowboy's Ain't Easy to Love. Enjoy!

Name That Tune #7

UPDATE AGAIN: The contest is over. I had 1 guess and she guessed one of the songs, so I'm going to give it to her! Yes, it's my blog and I can do that if I want;) So Congrats Don't Call Me Mummy . You are now entered in the drawing at the end of the month.

The two songs were:Motley Crue-Home Sweet Home and Toby Keith-I Love This Bar. Mom not Mum guessed Toby Keith! See ya next week unless ya'll think this game sucks and I should do away with it?

Update----HINT:1st song is a rock group from the 80's and it's not Head Of Household;) 2nd song is a country guy and "I Shove Fish Far"...lol. See if those help!!! You gotta think we those kinds of hints!

There's a twist this week!!! The clip consists of 2 songs and I made the tempo fast! Since it's new, I tried to make it a little easy;)

IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN! All you have to do is Name that Tune. I have provided a very small snippet of a song and you have to post a comment with your guess. You need to name the Title and Artist of the song. The FIRST one who answers correctly wins. Do You Scrap?

My mom is a HUGE fan of scrapbooking. She has all the cute little pieces and what not but me...well, I prefer digital scrapbooking myself. I'm way too lazy to cut, paint, and stick things together. sueangeldesigns.com offers a really neat package for a super low price. I mean, you can't beat the deal they give you. You can get everything you need all in one and it's only $18 A YEAR!! That's not all, you basically get to download everything plus the new designs released every month for that one low price. Talk about a steal! If any of you have bought digital scrapbooking software before, you know what it costs and while you may get some updates, you sure don't get unlimited downloads of EVERYTHING for a whole year for just under 20 bucks! Check it out and if you don't scrap, it would make an awesome gift for someone who does.

White Snow

He was a famous "show off" horse. In the Japanese parades, he would prance, switch his tail, and bob his head to make his long mane wave. He belonged to Emperor Hirohito of Japan.

When the U.S. Army took over Japan, they also took White Snow. Astride the now, weary horse of the late Emperor Hirohito, is the late Woodrow "Woody", taken in 1945, who was serving with the occupation forces in Japan after peace was signed. I would call him Papaw.

This is dedicated to my Papaw, who would try to explain to me that "Flossy the cow" wasn't going to hurt me and to my Mamaw, for writing these words and sharing her memories.

Bargain Hunter's One Stop Shop

If you don't already know, I am a Dooney freak. I love Dooney & Bourke handbags. Now, in order for me to own a Dooney, I have to be super thrifty. While surfing for bargains tonight, I came across AuctionSHARK. This site is very user friendly and had search bar right in front. I put in Dooney Bourke and taadaa, a good 5+ pages came up instantly. And I mean instantly, the site loaded super fast, which is always a plus in my book. What was unique about the site though, is that it had prices of the handbags from different places all in one. For example: It displayed Dooney handbags from Amazon, ebay, Boscov's, and more. You had the option to buy OR bid right there on the spot or you could be directed to the site for more information. I found it to be such a time saver. I absolutely hate jumping around from site to site trying to make sure I am getting the best deal. I love that AuctionSHARK.com presents you with this, as well as, letting you choose to buy or bid on the spot. With everything else I have to do at home and online, I definitely think that this will be one of my new shopping places.

Look For TrustedPlaces in London

TrustedPlaces is a fairly new website where friends can get together and share. If you live in London, you might want to check out some of the london bars. The community website provides some of the best places to go along with a map pinpointing each one. Now I know I have some UK readers so be sure to check it out!

Jackass Stunts to Get Traffic

Being part MEXICAN, part WHITE, and part INDIAN leaves me wide open to all kinds of "racial like" remarks but none of it bothers me.....But, when you have some jackass that tries to bring the race card up over something that is COMPLETELY harmless, it really chaps my hide.

I strongly believe that the people who bring the race card into situations are, themselves, racist. It's people like him, who keep the racial issue going, that make me sick.

Some people will do anything for linkbait, even if it means putting your integrity on the line , which he obviously does not possess!
And if your concern for Native Americans is so strong, then please tell us what you have contributed to that particular race? Or any other race for that matter...I mean, besides being a jackass.

I wasn't even going to include his link but since the anchor text was appropriately fitting, I went against my better judgement.

Bloggerista wrote a really good response to it so please go read it and digg it!
The paid post debate goes from personal to nasty

Hmmm..I think I should add him to my Idiotville list!

By the way, Happy Birthday to Phil and thank you for bringing the contests to us, so WE don't have to go looking for THEM.

That Special Moment

That special moment--A father sharing a beer with his son. WTH! Mad would be an understatement for the feelings rushing through my body when my husband told me he offered, our son, a drink of his beer. First of all, why would I feel any different? Did he want me to say, "Hey that's great!" or what? Maybe this is normal? You tell me. Is it normal for a father to share a beer with his son? And if so, what is the "normal" age this moment is shared?

So, I might have overreacted a bit when he told me this but I just was shocked. He said he shared a beer one time with his Dad about that age. (Which is 14 by the way!) We kinda ended up in an argument over this but a mother doesn't want to hear about her 14 year old son drinking beer with his dad. Yes, I know it was only 1 beer but still.

I hope I have some MALE readers 'cause I really would like to know what other fathers do with their sons or if you shared a beer with your Dad.

Digital Dream

As I have said before, photography is a passion of mine that I don't get to indulge in very often but I love to take pictures of people and animals. I currently use a Sony Cybershot DSC-P73 for all my picture taking but would love to have a Nikon SLR Digital Camera!! Woohooo, the pictures I could take with that!
I have many photo favorites but the ones I take of my family, are the ones that mean the most to me. What I really need, to show off my pictures, is a digital photo frame. Even better, would be to give it as a gift to the grandparents!! Man, that's a great idea!

One of the tricks I use to take pictures of horses, is to whistle just slightly so their ears will perk forward. Nothing is uglier than a picture of a beautiful horse with his ears drawn back! And I'm not afraid to get on the ground or climb up high to get that perfect photo. Sometimes I will even make my kids pose so I can get a "punchy" picture of them. Photography is such a great and expressive hobby to have. "A picture is worth a thousand words".

Blogging with Cents

I finally have "Blogging with Cents" my new blog up-n-going and even though it has tons of tweaking to be done and content to be added, I thought I would let you take a peak and perhaps leave a comment with your thoughts about it. Let me know what you think of the template/theme, content so far(although it is VERY minimal), and maybe some things that you would like to see there.

Losing Weight

I talked about how I plan to lose weight a while back (via injections) and received different reactions. No, I am not severly overweight but am considered obese. If I was severly overweight, I would probably consider something like weight loss surgery instead of the injections.

I have tried diet and exercise and I'm still the same weight as I was years ago. I hate it and now is the time for me to do something about it. If I don't, I'll just get bigger and I want to be around to play with my grandbabies WITHOUT asthma attacks.

Home Improvements

Our house is in desperate need of home improvements but because the house belongs to the ranch, we can't change anything without having permission first. We can make suggestions though and Double glazing are popular so it seems. From what I understand they have quite a few benefits. They are harder to break into because of of the double layer of glass and any way to make a home more secure is A+ to me! They are a money saver too; because of the double pane glass and the air between, your air and heating costs will reduce dramatically. And with everything being so high these days, cutting down on my electric bill would be a huge advantage. Hopefully I can persuade the ranch owner with the advantages listed and get my house to look more like a home!

Don't Bite Me!

My little guy has quite a few teeth now and loves to show them off. With these brand new teeth came the need to bite just about anything he can find but his favorite thing to get his teeth on is my fingers. I'm constantly saying "Don't Bite Me!" I actually have a little bruise where he bit my shoulder. Geez, maybe I should get him a bone..lol! Does everyone else's 11mth olds do this? And if so, have any suggestions on how to get him to quit?

Name That Tune #6

UPDATE: WooHoo..Teresa at Scribble Scratch won. The answer was Joan Jett with I Love Rock-n-Roll. Sorry the very late update!! Congrats girl!

It's a new month so the drawing starts fresh. Last month's winner was Amy from Whatever I Feel Like. Good Luck!

IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN! All you have to do is Name that Tune. I have provided a very small snippet of a song and you have to post a comment with your guess. You need to name the Title and Artist of the song. The FIRST one who answers correctly wins. Please..only 1 guess per comment but guess as many times as you like:) You have until Thursday 11:00am cst. to guess. No hints will be given, unless I'm feeling generous;)

What do you win? Some link love of course. Although, my blog is still a big fat (PR) O right now, I'm hoping it will go up with the next update. Nevertheless, traffic is traffic right? You will also get put into a monthly drawing of $10.00 payable via PayPal. In other words, there are 4 Wednesdays in September so you have at least a 1 in 4 chance of winning the $10.You can read more about it and get an idea of how it works by checking out the first Name that Tune Contest I held.

With that said----Let's get this party started! Good luck! Again this one is super easy because I forgot it was Wednesday!!

Contest Winner & Participants

I am sooo sorry for the delay. Things have been crazy around here! We have 6:30am football practice, which means we have to get up at 5:30 and leave the house at 5:50. Today is my son's birthday!! He's 14 years old!..makes me feel old.

I've also been working on my new website. It's a HUGE change and the whole CSS coding is WAY different from what I'm used to. Anyways, I apologize for not updating lately. I am now caught up and will be on schedule.

Now for the contest.

I started out with 26 subscribers and now have 47. This is a difference of 16. Which means....the pot started with $20 and each additional subscriber is worth $1, this totals $41 bucks that's in the pot and up for grabs!

Out of 47 subscribers, only 4 actually emailed me with the "secret message". I would like to think that those who subscribed but didn't enter the contest, subscribed because they like my blog but who knows. I guess we will see how many subscribers I lose now that the contest is over.
Since their were only 4 entries, I figured I would go ahead and list them all and show a little link love.
Matthew from Blog About Your Blog
Kat from My Single Mom Life
Cman from Cman's Money Page
Jayme from Just Jayme

My husband drew the name out of our good ol cowboy hat. Sooooo, the winner of the subscribe 2 win contest is:
My Single Mom Life!!

Give me a shout Kat with your paypal address so you can receive your $41 bucks!

You can participate in the Self Portrait Sunday too and you're brave enough to show your face. I'm really a coward trying to face my fears so without further delay............

The Saturday Special 9/1/07

There wasn't too much that went on this week. Thanks to Contest Blogger, I have entered about 20 contests!! I would have entered his Ashwin Khanna Revenge Contest but I deleted my review post of Ashwin as soon as I found out he was a big fat scammer!! If you were scammed and gave Ashwin a link, then you should redirect that link to contestblogger.com and enter the contest yourself. You could win $100.

The monthly winner of my Name That Tune contest is ????????????. HA!..I've been wanting to use blogger's new video upload thingy and this is the perfect chance--if you want to know who won, you have scroll down to watch the video!! BUT here are the winners in the drawing.

Jayme from Just Jayme
Amy from Whatever I Feel Like
Theresa from Scribble Scratch
Kalamaf from Kalamaf Drackonsbane

Contact Me with your paypal address so I can deposit your $10:) September we will start fresh! There are 4 Wednesdays so you will have a 1 in 4 chance of winning at the least!!

My subscribe 2 win contest is over and I will let you all know who won that later.

I just bought my own domain and will be starting a new website soon. It will take me a bit to figure how it all works. Having a web host is much harder to use than blogspot but I learn fast and have some really nice blogger friends that are willing to help! If you have any tips or advice, feel free to comment;)

That's it for today. It's been a crappy week, I'm tired, and I still have a kazillion things to do. Ya'll have a good weekend!!
